Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Endoscopic Carpal Tunnel Release
Carpal tunnel syndrome is a nerve compression disorder at the wrist that causes numbness, tingling, and pain in the thumb and fingers. Initially, it can be treated with splinting and injections, but the vast majority of patients require surgical release of the nerve at the wrist (carpal tunnel release). Conventional surgical techniques require the surgeon to make an incision on the palm, which can be uncomfortable and tender for patients. Dr. Master has gained significant experience with endoscopic carpal tunnel release which also allows for a complete release of the nerve. However, this technique does not require an incision on the palm. The benefit to patients is that they can often get back to their normal activities sooner after surgery.
