Thumb Arthritis
Thumb Arthroplasty (Thumb Joint Replacement)
This treatment is designed for patients with thumb carpometacarpal arthritis (pain at the base of the thumb). Unlike conventional techniques, tightrope suspensionplasty performed by Dr. Master allows patients to begin to use their thumb approximately 4 – 6 weeks earlier than with other techniques. Patients benefit greatly from this technique because they can get back to their normal activities sooner instead of remaining in a cast.
