BoulderCentre for Orthopedics & Spine Providing Same Day Urgent Care and Telehealth for Orthopedic Needs During COVID-19
Providing essential orthopedic services while helping prevent the spread of COVID-19, BoulderCentre for Orthopedics & Spine is now offering telehealth as an alternative approach to seeing patients with bone, joint and muscle concerns. This approach enables patients to safely visit with one of the practice’s specialty-trained providers from the comfort of their own home or office using video conference and telecommunications technology, such as a computer or smart device with a camera and microphone.
In addition to lowering exposure risk at the practice, their combined approach with on-site Ortho Same Day Care at their Boulder office, located at 4740 Pearl Parkway, and telehealth will allow for reduced patient traffic in hospitals, emergency rooms and traditional urgent care facilities while those entities focus on fighting COVID-19 cases.
“As we continue to react to the COVID-19 pandemic, the physicians at BoulderCentre for Orthopedics & Spine are committed to providing orthopedic care to the community while also keeping our patients and staff safe,” says BoulderCentre for Orthopedics & Spine Practice President Dr. Lorri Fulkerson. “We remain open but are seeing most patients via telehealth.”
Through telehealth, the practice’s specialty-trained experts are able to diagnose over 80% of bone, joint and muscle injuries. This new, secure technology complies with federal health privacy laws and offers area residents accurate, high-quality orthopedic care without risk to themselves and others as well as the practice’s providers and staff. The practice also has safety protocols in place for any imaging or hands-on services that may be necessary for further diagnosis or treatment.
“At BoulderCentre for Orthopedics & Spine, we prioritize the health and safety of our patients and staff above all else. Additionally, we are committed to ensuring that residents of Boulder, Lafayette and the surrounding areas have access to essential orthopedic care,” says Dr. Fulkerson. “We know that orthopedic injuries are often painful and inconvenient, which is why we are continuing to provide specialized care to patients while offering a health-conscious solution through telehealth during this unfortunate time of crisis.”
As regional experts in orthopedics and related pain and injuries, BoulderCentre for Orthopedics & Spine will be able to ease strain on the community health system with telehealth. Additionally, their doctors and specialty-trained staff will be able to minimize risk of any potential viral exposure to as many individuals as possible through this approach as well as following local and national health safety guidelines.
