Three Advanced Specialists Join BoulderCentre for Orthopedics & Spine
Fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeons Dr. Jon Hammarstedt and Dr. Eric Schryver as well as fellowship-trained nonsurgical spine and sports medicine specialist Dr. Katrina Slater are joining BoulderCentre for Orthopedics & Spine. All three doctors are available to see patients at the practice’s offices in Boulder, located at 4740 Pearl Parkway, Suite 200, and in Broomfield at 1185 State Highway 7. Dr. Hammarstedt is also available at the practice’s satellite location in Wray at 1017 W. 7th St., and Dr. Schryver will be available at the practice's satellite location in Yuma at 1000 W. 8th Ave. Patients in need of advanced bone, joint and muscle care are encouraged to call 303-449-2730 for an appointment.
Each of the new specialists joining BoulderCentre for Orthopedics & Spine has completed advanced fellowship training in their specialized field. Dr. Hammarstedt is a dual-fellowship-trained hand and upper extremity surgeon who treats a wide range of injuries and conditions affecting the hand and upper extremities. Dr. Schryver is a fellowship-trained sports medicine surgeon who treats a wide range of sports injuries using minimally invasive techniques. Dr. Slater uses nonsurgical treatment methods as a fellowship-trained interventional spine and sports medicine specialist, and her expertise includes a wide range of procedures and techniques for the spine.

Dr. Hammarstedt earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine. He then completed residency training in orthopedic surgery at Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh. Further refining his skills, Dr. Hammarstedt underwent his first fellowship in orthopedic trauma at the University of Zurich in Switzerland. He then committed to additional training with a second fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at the world-renowned Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder Center in conjunction with Thomas Jefferson University in Pennsylvania.
Dr. Schryver completed his Doctor of Medicine degree at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. He then went through an orthopedic surgery residency at The University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. Dr. Schryver then committed to an additional year of training with a sports medicine fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute in Los Angeles.
Dr. Slater earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Auburn, Alabama. Following her time there, she underwent transitional residency training at LewisGale Hospital Montgomery in Blacksburg, Virginia, and then a physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at the University of Louisville in Kentucky. To further her training, she completed an interventional spine and sports medicine fellowship at Jordan-Young Institute in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
