Dr. Jon Hammarstedt is a fellowship-trained hand and upper extremity surgeon who treats a wide range of injuries and conditions encompassing the finger, hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. Dr. Hammarstedt's patient-centric approach is dedicated to providing tailored treatment options, empowering patients to reclaim an active and healthy lifestyle. A native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Dr. Hammarstedt graduated with distinction from the Schreyer Honors College at The Pennsylvania State University. His medical education took place at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine, where he was honored with the LaVerne Noyes, K.M. Tan, and College of Medicine scholarships for students with academic distinction.

Following this, he successfully completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, receiving numerous accolades, such as the Allegheny Health Network award for persistence in research and the American Orthopedic Association Resident Leadership Award. Furthermore, he was selected for the prestigious traveling fellowship in Orthopaedic Trauma at the University of Zurich in Switzerland. He then committed to additional training with a comprehensive fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at the world-renowned Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

As a fellowship-trained hand and upper extremity surgeon, and over 50 peer-reviewed publications, Dr. Hammarstedt is highly skilled in surgical approaches of the upper extremity as well as minimally invasive and nonsurgical treatment options for injuries and conditions from the fingertips to the shoulder. He specializes in working with patients with ailments such as joint pain, arthritis, carpal tunnel release, tennis elbow, trigger finger release, cysts, fracture care, rotator cuff pathology, and ultrasound-guided injections.

In his free time, Dr. Hammarstedt finds joy in outdoor pursuits, with a particular passion for skiing, hiking in our picturesque national parks, and indulging in culinary adventures.
